Gayle Petty, MBA is the manager of the Nutrition Evaluation Laboratory (NEL) at the HNRCA. Ms. Petty has managed the laboratory aspects of hundreds of research projects, including many large normative aging studies, program projects, and clinical trials, such as the Framingham Heart Study, NHANES II, and the Nurses’ Health Study. She has contributed to the analytical component of projects aimed at identifying the United States Recommended Dietary Allowance for the elderly population. She directs the development, implementation and troubleshooting of laboratory tests by using advanced and state-of-the-art instrumentation, establishing quality control procedures, and designing the analytical components of research protocols. Ms. Petty is a member of the American Chemical Society, American Association for Clinical Chemistry, and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
