Jennifer Lee is a Scientist II at the HNRCA. Her research expertise focuses on gut health in the context of diet-induced obesity and gut homeostasis; she has also conducted studies to determine the effect of gut microbiome on Type 2 diabetes. Prior to joining the HNRCA, she was a Staff Scientist II at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. After earning her Ph.D. in Nutritional Biology from the University of California at Davis, Dr. Lee held two post-doc posts: first with the Tanenbaum-Lunenfeld Research Institute at the University of Toronto, then with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism.
While at BIDMC, Dr. Lee also held an Assistant Professor faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School, Department of Medicine. She was an active member of the HMS scientific community, and mentored young women as medical students and research fellows to help support and promote their interests in STEM.
