Biography
Haowei Wang is a Scientist III with the Nutritional Epidemiology team, as well as the Program Officer for the Postdoctoral program. Her research will focus on health disparities. She has just completed a two-year NIA-funded postdoctoral position with the Pennsylvania State University’s Population Research Institute & Department of Sociology and Criminology. As a postdoc, her research focused on the intersections of aging, family, and health; specifically, how demographic changes and social policies impact physical and mental health of aging populations, changing family networks in a global setting, and testing how multiple dimensions of family relations influence health and well-being across the life span.
Haowei earned her Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts Boston where she also earned an M.S. in Gerontology. She also holds an M.A. in Sociology from Tsinghua University in China.
